Braid / Mono for Freshwater Fishing
Braid and mono (monofilament) are two common types of fishing lines used in freshwater fishing.
Braid is made from woven strands of synthetic fibres, making it extremely strong, thin, and with little stretch, offering high sensitivity and long casting distance. It’s ideal for situations where you need more strength and feel, such as when targeting large fish or fishing in heavy cover.
Monofilament (Mono) is a single strand of nylon that’s more stretchy, making it forgiving during fights with fish. It’s easier to handle, floats, and is generally more affordable, making it suitable for a wide range of fishing situations, especially when beginners or general fishing applications are in mind.
